Referring a Family Member?

We've received quite a few emails from people referring their partner, parent, child, or the guy who is sharing the sofa.

The problem is that we have a number of checks to prevent people creating multiple accounts for themselves and ramping up credit for referrals, so if you refer someone who uses your Internet connection, or God forbid, your computer, then the system freaks out.

We have given this issue some thought and here's what we'll do. You will be able to refer family members and so on, but you won't get credit for the referral. This is a compromise from shutting out referrals to family members entirely, and allowing multiple accounts from the same source.

The new system will be up within 36 hours. Watch this space.

Welcome, Family Members

As announced yesterday, family members (or anyone else using your Internet connection) can now sign up via the link on your user page.

However, no referral fees will be credited to your account. This is to mitigate the problem of duplicate account creation by unscrupulous users.

Note that you CANNOT sign up if you are using the same computer as the person who referred you. Do not worry about this. If you are sharing a computer, you might as well share the Qassia account.
